-Executive Summary-

  • Bounce!  After two solid down-days, the broader market (SP-500) and secondary markets (DOW and NASDAQ) found enough footing for a bounce higher.  See more below
  • Intel Corp. (Ticker: INTC $21.85/share) received a “buy” recommendation from a financial firm and a $27/share target.  The stock recovered much of the last two day -4% pullback and may be setting-up for a push higher.  If the stock was to make that move over time from approx. $22/share, that would be a +22% increase in value of the stock.  Stay tuned.
  • Special “Thank You” to subscribers “Bill G.”, “Ev T.”, and “Mike R.” for their separate encouragements over the last two days.

– Market Perspectives –

For your added perspective, we’ve included this chart of the broader market (Successful stock investors develop and start with a minds-eye view of the broader market and keep it clear) –

1. SMC SP-500 ETF Daily Chart (Click to open helpful chart in a separate browser window).

– Today’s Highlights –

Besides the fact that the markets staged a modest bounce on Lower Than Average Volume (not so good), here’s what has our attention –

1. U.S. Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the fourth quarter was GUIDED DOWN by the government – by 1/2 percent.  That’s significant.

2. Great Britain’s GDP came in lower than the previous quarter.

The people in Ireland went to the polls to elect a new government.  We’re keeping a close eye on the Bank of Ireland (Ticker: IRE $2.26/share).

– Story-Stock Investing –

We sure like it when our ideas get backing from other financial firms.  Today, Intel Corp. (INTC $21.86) received a buy recommendation and a $27/share target.  The stock recovered a good portion of its -4% drop over the past days (after we sold our shares).  We’ll see how things look next week.
