Fear of inflation and concern overseas in Europe about sovereign debt issues (currently the focus is on Ireland) has brought forth sellers interested in capturing their gains from the strong rally over the last 2.5 months.  Market leading stocks like Apple Inc. (Ticker: AAPL), Ford Motor Co. (F), and Amazon.com (AMZN) have all been roughed-up throughout the morning.

Following Cisco Systems (CSCO) surprise earnings disappointment last week and their indications that public sector infrastructure spending has diminished, Cisco stock has not yet been able to find support.  This too is having its impact on the market, as the tech sector has been very weak.  Perhaps today will bring forth buyers in Cisco following its -21% haircut in price from last week’s high, just prior to their earnings release.
